High-temperature effect on the material constants and elastic moduli for solid rocks

Abstract Thermally coupled constitutive relations are generally used to determine material constants and elastic moduli (Young's modulus shear modulus) of solid media. Conventional studies on this issue mainly based the linear temperature dependence moduli, whereas analytical difficulties often encountered in theoretical nonlinear dependence, particularly at high temperatures. This study investigates thermally for using assumption axisymmetric fields, with applications geologic materials (marble, limestone granite). The Taylor power series Helmholtz free energy function within dimensionless temperatures could be develop relations. thermoelastic equivalent equations were formulated under generalized Hooke's law. rocks determined by fitting experimental data stress strain fields different temperatures, their thermomechanical properties. For these materials, resultant deformations good agreement those from measurements.
